Wie ontwerpt en maakt SUSTAINED?
SUSTAINED is een merk van textielkunstenaar Sara Vrugt. Het is een jong merk dat ouderwetse service biedt.
Sara doet haar uiterste best om elke klant zo goed mogelijk van dienst te zijn door producten van hoge kwaliteit te maken, bestellingen zorgvuldig af te handelen en vragen zo goed mogelijk te beantwoorden. Bovendien geeft ze met plezier persoonlijk advies over het tafellinnen dat voor uw tafel geschikt is en zal ze haar best doen het perfecte tafellinnen te vinden of te maken.
Hoe wordt SUSTAINED gemaakt?
De servetten en tafellakens van SUSTAINED zijn bedrukt met watergedragen zeefdrukinkt. Op de tafellakens worden ook machinaal geborduurde vlekken aangebracht met rayon en polyester garens. Omdat elk kleed anders is, is de plaatsing op elk stuk ook verschillend. Alles, echt alles, wordt door Sara gemaakt in eigen atelier. Van inkoop tot zeefdrukraam, van waslabel tot verpakking.
Is SUSTAINED wel wasbaar?
Het tafellinnen is gewoon wasbaar in de machine, liefst op 40 graden. Heter kan wel, maar dat komt de levensduur van de inkt niet ten goede.
Extra vlekken gemaakt tijdens een bacchanaal? Wrijf de vlekken (die er wél uit moeten :-)) in met ossengal of een ander vlekkenmiddel en borstel even uit. Daarna kan het hele kleed in de machine. Het is aan te raden te centrifugeren op een laag toerental, dat voorkomt al te straffe kreukels.

Waarom is het tafellinnen tweedehands?
Als basis kiest Sara specifiek voor tweedehands materiaal. Dit hergebruik is niet alleen een ethische keuze, maar ook een esthetische: antiek tafellinnen is vaak mooier dan nieuw weefsel. Soms verraden kleine gebruikssporen wel dat het weefsel al veel heeft meegemaakt. Dat kan je zien als een imperfectie, of als aanleiding voor fantasieën over de vorige gebruikers.
Inkopen doet Sara doorlopend. Nog een stapel ongebruikt linnen van oma liggen? Ze geeft het graag een nieuw leven!

Who designs and makes SUSTAINED?
SUSTAINED is a brand from textile artist Sara Vrugt. It is a young brand that offers an old-fashioned service.
Sara does her utmost to provide every customer with the best possible service by making high quality products, handling orders carefully and answering relevant questions as well as possible. Moreover, she gladly gives personal advice and will do her best to find or make the table linen that suits your table perfectly.
How is SUSTAINED made?
SUSTAINED's napkins and tablecloths are screenprinted with water-based ink. On the tablecloths additional stains are machine-embroidered with rayon and polyester yarns. Because each piece is different, the placement of stains on each cloth varies. Everything, really everything, is made by Sara in her own studio. From sourcing materials to screen printing, from the washing label to packaging.
Is SUSTAINED washable?
The table linen is machine-washable, preferably at 40 degrees. Higher temperatures are possible, but the ink won't benefit.
Any extra stains after a copious dinner? Rub the stains (that do need to be removed :-)) with ox gall soap or any other stain remover and brush. Then put the whole cloth into the machine. It is advisable to spin at low speed, which prevents heavy creases.

Why is it used table linen?
Sara chooses specifically for vintage material as a basis. This re-use is not only an ethical choice, but also an aesthetic one: antique table linen is often more beautiful than new fabric. Sometimes small traces of use show that the fabric has already served for generations. Those traces can be conceived as imperfections, or as a reason for fantasies about the previous users.
Sara sources materials continuously. Do you have a pile of unused linen from your grandmother? She likes to give it a new life!
